Why the size matters
Most grinders sold as “standard” are two to two and a half inches, which means working in batches. Three inches is roughly the point where a full grind happens in one pass instead of three. The trade-off is real: this is a desk grinder, not a pocket one.
The storage compartment is the other half of the argument. A grinder that holds what it grinds is one object to keep track of instead of two.
