Hard shell or soft pouch
EVA holds its shape under compression, which is what protects glass carts in a packed bag. A soft pouch weighs less and packs flatter, but it passes on whatever squashes it. If what you are carrying can crack, the hard shell is the one that matters — and at 2.4 oz the protection costs you almost nothing in weight.
What fits
A 510 battery, a few carts, charging cables, and small items like earphones or SD cards. The strap grips one item securely; the mesh pocket takes the rest without letting it rattle around loose.
The trade-off
It organises and protects; it does not seal. There is no carbon lining here, so it is not smell proof. If containment is the point rather than protection, a carbon-lined pouch is the right category.
