Palram Canopia Oasis Hex Greenhouse, 7' x 8', Gray

A hexagonal polycarbonate greenhouse on a powder-coated frame, built to stay up through weather rather than come down at the end of the season.

What it is

  • 7′ × 8′ hexagonal footprint
  • Virtually unbreakable clear polycarbonate panels, over 90% light transmission, 100% UV blocked
  • Frame of powder-coated galvanized steel and aluminium
  • Rated to 55 MPH wind and heavy snow loads when properly assembled
  • Adjustable side louvre window for airflow and humidity control
  • Built-in gutter system for drainage and water collection
  • Sliding-panel assembly, all hardware included, DIY instructions
  • Gray

Where it fits

The hexagonal shape is the unusual part and it is the reason to pick this over a rectangular unit: six faces means light comes in from more angles through the day, and the shape is far stiffer against wind than a straight-walled greenhouse of the same footprint. The trade-off is that bench layout takes more thought than it does in a rectangle.

The louvre window matters more than the spec sheet suggests. Drying and curing both live or die on humidity, and a greenhouse without adjustable ventilation gives you no way to manage it.

This is the permanent option. If the plan is to put something up for one season and take it down again, the walk-in PE-cover greenhouses in the catalog are the cheaper and more sensible answer.
