One correction to the Amazon spec table
Amazon's auto-generated attribute list for this item says "built-in rechargeable battery", "touch control" and "HEPA". None of those are true of a Smokebuddy. It is an entirely passive activated-carbon filter with no battery, no buttons and no electronics. Those fields are template defaults, not the product — and the absence of power is the feature, not an omission.
What it is and isn't
It filters what you deliberately breathe into it, and nothing else. It does not treat a room — ambient smell from a session is unaffected, and for that you want a room purifier instead. The two work alongside each other rather than as alternatives.
It is a consumable
The cartridge is sealed. There is no refilling it and no servicing it: when the carbon is spent, the unit is spent. The 300-use figure is a genuine estimate rather than a guarantee, since it depends on how much you push through it each time.
Two signals, in this order. Resistance first — it becomes noticeably harder to blow through, and this is the one worth acting on. Smell second — by the time odour is passing through, it has been partly failing for a while. Buy the next one as a spare rather than as a rescue.
